Wastequip, the leading North American manufacturer of waste handling and recycling equipment, has introduced its new Super Energy Efficient, 4-yard, self-contained compactor.
The new compactor features a charge box that is twice the size of traditional 2-yard self-contained compactors while using up to 65 percent fewer kilowatts of electricity. The energy savings comes from its large charge box that allows operators to fill the compactor with up to 24 bags of trash versus just 12 bags with a typical 2-yard self-contained compactor. As a result, the compactor runs 50 percent fewer cycles, saving energy. Additional energy savings comes from the Super “E” series motor that significantly improves efficiency by enabling the motor to run cooler and last longer.
The Wastequip Super Energy Efficient compactor has a number of other features that improve safety and efficiency. The Guardian real-time monitor allows operators to see what is in the charge box or chute, making it ideal for through-the wall applications. The Guardian control system offers additional safety features including dual Watch Dog timers that prevent unintended continuous operation along with an Automatic Maintenance Scheduler (AMS) to alert operators when routine maintenance is due.
The compactor is designed to maximize hydraulic performance with its quick disconnects that are 33 percent larger than standard disconnects, providing improved flow. The motor and pump system are also sized for optimal hydraulic performance.
“We’re excited to introduce the Super Energy Efficient compactor to support sustainability and energy savings initiatives that continue to be key factors in product selection,” said Kirk Warren, director of product management. “Not only does it use up to 65 percent less energy than a typical 2-yard self-contained compactor, it also has a number of features that enhance safety and performance like the Guardian power unit and the Guardian real-time monitor. Additionally, the compactor is covered by a three-year warranty, the best in the industry.”
