One key way Wastequip furthers our mission to support a more sustainable future for the waste management industry is by partnering with organizations like the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) who work to do the same. This year, we are pleased to once again join EREF as a major giveaway sponsor for their upcoming 2021 Fall Classic & Networking Event on November 17-18 in Phoenix, AZ.
The EREF is currently the only private, international grant funding institution with a focus on supporting solid waste research and education initiatives. Their vision is to build a more sustainable, circular economy by designing products and services that can be reused through biological or technological cycles.
Theirs is a mission that aligns well with Wastequip’s company-wide sustainability commitment, including our corporate responsibility commitment (CORE) program, which aims to:
- Help define the future of the waste industry with progressive thinking and leadership
- Create products and a standard of behavior that respects the environment for future generations
- Employ a diverse workforce, provide development opportunities, and value differing perspectives
- Continue to demonstrate social consciousness through Wastequip Cares and the foresight that makes one proud to work for or do business with Wastequip
For over 25 years, EREF has funded research grants and graduate student scholarships, aggregated and analyzed data and provided educational opportunities related to solid waste. And currently, the EREF is funding a wide range of environmental studies ranging from microbiology of different temperature landfills to renewable energy and water treatment. For these reasons and more, Wastequip’s support of the EREF Fall Classic is part of our commitment to invest in a greener earth.
