Pioneer’s patented Rack ’n Pinion STRONG ARM™ systems are the toughest tarping systems in the waste industry. These fully hydraulic systems use rack and pinion technology for controlled side arm movement, providing adjustable length telescoping arms. A hydraulic cylinder moves a rack gear forward and backwards in combination with a pinion gear to rotate the pivot arms. The arms extend and retract through dual acting hydraulic cylinders to accommodate containers of various heights. This design provides constant control over speed and precise synchronization of the pivot arms as they cover and uncover the container. Pioneer’s Rack 'n Pinion Strong Arms systems are designed for 20, 30, 40 and 50 yard containers and come standard with a 114” wide heavy duty mesh tarp that is reinforced at the front and rear with urethane coated nylon for wear resistance.
